Radford has commenced building the Type 62-2 client cars at Aria Group’s facility in California. That’s right, the coachbuilding firm—co-owned by former Formula One World Champion Jenson Button—has teamed up with the said contract manufacturer to build the cars. Makes sense, since Radford is bespoking only 62 units. The company showed off “a packed production line” of Type 62-2 chassis.
Of the total 62 units, 12 units are gonna be the John Player Special, featuring a special black and gold livery that pays homage to a livery flaunted by a ’70s Lotus 72 F1 car, and another 12 units are gonna be the Gold Leaf limited edition. In case you missed the story last year, the Type 62-2 is based on Evora‘s platform, which means it’ll also pack a Toyota-sourced 3.5L Supercharged V6 engine. Gearbox options will be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.
