India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) has launched a retro-themed Z650RS 50th Anniversary edition motorcycle, priced at INR 6,79,000, ex-showroom, Pan India. The motorcycle celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Z brand and is limited to just 20 units for India. It is available only with the Candy Diamond Brown dual-tone paint scheme.
Speaking of which, the body panels are in some kind of a brown, with red application on the fuel tank and near the rear grab handle. The frame is in gloss black, while the 17-inch cast wheels are painted gold. But then the standard Z650RS wheels are also available in gold (with Candy Emerald Green). Also, the seat leather is said to have a different texture compared with the standard model. Rounding off the special edition is a commemorative Z 50th logo on the fuel tank.
The rest of the features will remain unchanged, obviously. These include an LCD screen sandwiched between analogue speedometer and tachometer; all-LED lighting; dual 300 mm front discs; and horizontal Back-link rear suspension with adjustable preload.
The motorcycle is powered by a 649 cc parallel-twin engine that pumps out 50.2 kW (68 metric hp) at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm (47 lb-ft) of torque at 6,700 rpm, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
