The first retail 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has fetched $3.6 million at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, breaking the previous record held by the first retail 2020 Corvette Stingray by $600,000. The proceeds will go to Operation Homefront, a U.S. nonprofit organization that helps military families. The auctioned off Corvette Z06 was the 70th Anniversary Edition Chevrolet announced a week ago.
The year 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of the Corvette nameplate. The special edition is actually a package available on 2023 Corvette Stingray 3LT and Z06 3LZ coupe and convertible models. It offers two exclusive exterior finishes: White Pearl Metallic tri-coat and Carbon Flash Metallic, complemented with optional stripes in Satin Gray and Satin Black, respectively.
Other features of the package include commemorative wheel center caps; 70th Anniversary Edition exterior badging with special Corvette crossflags; Edge Red brake calipers; 70th Anniversary Edition logo on seats, steering wheel and sill plates; and custom luggage set with red stitching and 70th Anniversary Edition logo. The 70th Anniversary Edition Stingray coupes will also include an Edge Red engine cover.
