Ford is baking a brand new, 5th generation Mondeo sedan for the Chinese market; a test mule was spotted again recently in Ford’s hometown of Dearborn, Michigan, but this time it was completely camo-free. However, it is highly unlikely that the sedan will be offered in the North American markets.

The new Mondeo appears to be the cheaper version of the Lincoln Zephyr we saw recently. As for styling, it looks just like the Evos crossover with a very similar front fascia. In fact, from the front-three-quarter angles, the new Mondeo looks like a squashed version of the Evos. The rear end looks fairly unique and stylish with taillights that give off Mustang vibes.
The current Mondeo in China offers two EcoBoost petrol options: 134 kW (182 metric hp) 1.5L unit and a 152 kW (207 metric hp) 2.0L unit. The new model might offer a more powerful 2.0L unit and maybe electrified options as well in the future.
