Toyota has launched the 4th generation Noah and Voxy minivans in Japan, with prices starting at JPY 2,670,000 (US$ 23,377) and JPY 3,090,000 (US$ 27,054), respectively. Both offer a big list of variants to choose from, but the important thing to know is that both are available either with FWD or AWD configurations.

Both Noah and Voxy sport a gigantic front grille that now looks more gigantic than ever before. The grille design in the Noah varies depending on the variant. Both are built on the TNGA (GA-C) platform which enables to better package the space available inside. As for features, both Noah and Voxy are equipped with power sliding doors with a step on the front passenger seat side, and the models also come with 460 mm hand grips as standard on both left and right B pillars. Buyers can opt for hands-free dual power sliding doors which automatically open upon placing the feet underneath the doors (if the keyfob is in the pocket). Another highlight is, the rear hatch can be stopped at any angle.

The cabin design of both Noah and Voxy is identical. Both offer a choice of 7 or 8 seats. Key features include an 8-inch or 10.5-inch central touchscreen, a color head-up display, in-vehicle WiFi hotspot, second-row captain seats (7-seater), one-touch folding third-row seats, and Toyota Safety Sense suite of active safety and driver assistance systems which include Pre-collision System, Proactive Driving Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Front Cross-Traffic Alert. Models equipped with power sliding doors also come with Safe Exit Assist. Also, with Advanced Park function, the minivans can be remotely parked via a smartphone.

As for the juicy bits of the story, petrol buyers will get a 2.0-litre (M20A-FKS) 4-cylinder unit paired with a CVT that offers simulated 10-speed shifts. The output figures are 125 kW (170 metric hp) and 202 Nm (149 lb-ft) of torque. Hybrid models pack a 1.8-litre (2ZR-FXE) 4-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors (no rear motor for FWD variants) for a combined power output of 103 kW (140 metric hp). Transmission here is an e-CVT. Download the spec-sheet here (Japanese).
