Carroll Shelby’s Shelby American will celebrate its 60th Anniversary next year with the return of the GT500KR—available as a package on the model year 2020-2022 Shelby GT500—limited to 180 units worldwide (60 per model year). The package carries an MSRP of $54,995. Those who don’t have the car can directly purchase the model year 2021 Shelby GT500 with the package for $127,895.
The new “King of the Road” package includes a carbon fibre hood with louvers, carbon fibre front splitter, one-piece 6061-T6 forged aluminum 20-inch wheels—wrapped with performance tyres, carbon fibre rear diffuser, carbon fibre Gurney flap, 60th Anniversary badging (2022 MY only), numbered engine and dash plate, leather seat covers, and embroidered floor mats.
As for performance upgrades, the 5.2L V8 engine is hooked-up with a massive 3.8L supercharger, pumping out over 900 fwhp (flywheel horsepower) on 93 octane fuel. Other highlights include Borla cat-back exhaust system, ride-height adjustable front & rear springs, MagneRide suspension recalibration, Ford Performance front & rear sway bars, and caster camber plates.
