If you are a Rolls-Royce connoisseur with multiple cars in your collection, spending another £40,570 (INR 40.80 lakh) probably isn’t a big deal. Unsurprisingly, there are many such connoisseurs around the globe. Which is why Rolls-Royce is offering the Cellarette—a whisky and cigar chest—at a starting price that’ll buy you a spacious two-bedroom house in a developing country.
That said, the Cellarette is indeed a work of art, worthy of joining a billionaire’s art collection. Its polished aluminium chassis is wrapped with Havana leather—complete with an Obsidian Ayous Open Pore veneer serving tray with Spirit of Ecstasy inlay. The dark exterior opens to emit a warm ambient glow, revealing the lowball glasses with the ‘RR’ monogram. These glasses rotate outwards as the unit opens, adding to the drama.
On one side of the Cellarette is a magnificent Armagnac leather-lined bottle pannier where the bottle (can accommodate different sizes) is held in place magnetically by a polished aluminium fastener, and on the other side is a humidor with a cigar tray. Cigars are nestled in Spanish Cedarwood at the chosen humidity level—a measure that is precisely monitored by a hygrometer. The hygrometer design is a nod to the clock in Rolls-Royce cars. Also part of the collection are an intricately detailed cigar cutter and lighter, made by S.T. Dupont, Paris.
