It appears that the ongoing global semiconductor shortage pandemic is pushing Mahindra XUV700 new bookings (those who booked in Oct or Nov 2021) to Feb 2023 and in some cases to June or July 2023, which obviously is resulting in many cancelling their bookings. But what’s more interesting is that since many are cancelling their bookings due to 2023 delivery dates, some are getting their delivery date updated to an earlier one.
These are some of the many, many messages and comments on the XUV700 Facebook group. Although Mahindra is not alone in facing this situation, it has got a lot more bookings to handle compared with MG or Kia—for example. Remember it had received 65,000 bookings in just two weeks of bookings commencement. And of course, Mahindra has to fulfil not only XUV700 orders but also the Thar.
