The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released the range and MPGe ratings for the all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 5, which are up to 303 mi (488 km) and 114 (city & highway combined), respectively. The 303 mi rating is for the Long Range RWD variant (with a larger 77.4 kWh battery pack), which is 5 mi (8 km) more than what Hyundai claimed when the car globally debuted earlier this year with a 72.6 kWh Long Range pack.
The Long Range AWD is rated at 256 mi (412 km) with 98 combined MPGe, while the Standard Range RWD with a 58 kWh battery pack is rated at 220 mi (354 km) with 110 combined MPGe. However, notice that there’s no city and highway breakdown for the range.
The Ioniq 5 is expected to go on sale in the U.S. market by the end of this month. It’ll be available in three trims: SE, SEL and Limited. Another important point to note is that the aforementioned ratings are for the Ioniq 5 with 19-inch wheels; the Limited trim comes with 20-inch wheels, which might offer slightly less range.
