As you know, Bugattis, in general, are produced in limited numbers, which makes each car a “bespoke commission” in its own right. However, the clients who are capable of spending more money, want to go bespoke-ception and make theirs unique among the very limited. Take the Chiron Zebra 1-of-1, for example, which was the result of more than three weeks of hand painting. And of course, the most recent example is the Divo Lady Bug which took more than 18 months to get painted with a complex geometric fading pattern.
And so, now that Bugatti knows that its clients are willing to spend more, it has formally launched a customization program called Bugatti Sur Mesure. The first project under this new program is this Chiron Pur Sport.
The unique Chiron Pur Sport gets inspired by Louis Chiron’s victory in the 1931 French Grand Prix with Achille Varzi in a Bugatti Type 51 bearing the number 32. The hand-painted, retro-style number kinda matches the font used on the aforementioned Type 51. Another highlight of this special Chiron Pur Sport is a fading ‘EB’ painted pattern—applied meticulously by hand.
The cockpit continues the fading EB pattern, with ‘Grand Prix’ branding on the centre console and ‘32’ on the headrests. “For many years, we have worked with our clients to create their own personal vision of the ultimate hyper sports car. It has always been a highly tailored process, but as an ever-increasing number of our clients request detailed and intricate customization, the launch of Bugatti Sur Mesure will ensure we can cater to their desires with the perfect level of detail required from a Bugatti,” said Hendrik Malinowski, Bugatti’s Managing Director for Sales and Marketing.
