Genesis has revealed the exterior styling of the 2022 G90 which appears to be the next-generation model of the Equus/EQ900 successor. The brand’s flagship sedan will first go on sale in Korea sometime next year, followed by the global markets at a later date.
The styling has been sharpened up compared with the 2018 facelift. The headlights are even slimmer; in fact, the thinnest in the Genesis lineup, and both the Crest grille and the lower grille are slightly larger. The side profile continues to look clean and elegant with sharpened-up lines, while at the rear, the taillights are slimmer and angular and sort of look inverted compared with the outgoing model. To match the Two-Line headlights, the rear fascia features an additional thin light bar underneath the taillights. The thin headlights boast MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology for low beam. The wheel design looks a bit complicated but kinda matches the car, and notice that there’s also a long-wheelbase variant with 20-inch Maybach-esque wheels.
One of the design highlights of the new model is its clamshell hood—a single panel that combines the hood and fenders in order to minimize panel gaps and achieve sleeker looks. Genesis hasn’t shared any further details yet, but in the meantime, I guess you can just admire its external beauty.
