MG Motor India has announced the prices of the Astor, which starts at INR 9.78 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. Bookings will commence on October 21, 2021. Variant-wise introductory ex-showroom prices below (in INR) –

That’s right, these are the fancy “introductory” prices, which means the “real” prices will show up in a month or two. But anyway, the Astor will be available in four trims: Style, Super, Smart and Sharp.

And, key features depending on the trim include LED headlights, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch MID, auto AC, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, and so on. The personal AI Assistant is exclusive to Smart and Sharp trims. The Level 2 ADAS is optional on the Sharp trim.
Moving on to the juicy bits of the story then, for starters, there’ll be a 1.5L (1,498 cc) petrol engine with 81 kW (110 metric hp) and 144 Nm (106 lb-ft) of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT. For those who want more, the Astor will offer a 1.35L (1,349 cc) turbocharged petrol engine with 103 kW (140 metric hp) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. MG is offering a standard ownership package that includes 3 years or unlimited km warranty, 3 years of road-side assistance and 3 years of labor-free services. The package can be extended up to 5 years.
