Lucid Motors is happy to share that the reservations for the Air have crossed 13,000 units and the customer deliveries will commence in late October 2021. The first batch of vehicles rolled off the assembly line at the company’s Advanced Manufacturing Plant (AMP-1) in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Lucid is producing the top-of-the-line Air Dream Edition models first, followed by Grand Touring, Touring, and Air Pure variants at a later date. The sold-out Air Dream Edition carries a starting price tag of $169,000; it received a 520-mile (837 km) official EPA rating recently, beating Tesla Model S Long Range by 115 miles (185 km).
The proprietary EV technology that Lucid has developed will make it possible to travel more miles using less battery energy. For example, our Air Grand Touring has an official EPA rating of 516 miles (830 km) of range with a 112 kWh battery pack, giving it an industry-leading efficiency of 4.6 miles (7.4 km) per kWh. After the Air, Lucid is working on its first SUV, Gravity, expected to show up in late 2022 or in early 2023.
