Ford showcased the Expedition Timberline Off-Grid concept at the Overland Expo East in Arrington, Virginia. The one-off is based on the 2022 Expedition Timberline that debuted last month.
As we can see, the concept is overloaded with accessories such as a Thule Tepui Explorer tent, Overland Vehicle Systems’ Nomadic 180-degree awning, custom DeeZee Rock Rail Hoop Steps, a 50-inch Rigid light bar mounted above the windshield, additional Rigid 20-inch light bar below the grille, D-SS Rigid side shooter cube lights atop the hood, and Rigid spotlights within the wheel wells. A flip of a switch turns the lights red for stargazers. The off-roader is finished in a custom CG Detroit topographic wrap over factory Forged Green exterior paint.
Off-road credentials include 10.6-inches of ground clearance + 2-inches with custom FOX Performance Elite Series shocks. The 17-inch Method Race Wheels are wrapped with 35-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires.
Inside, the Expedition Timberline Off-Grid concept is fitted with an EZ STAK custom aluminum dual storage drawer unit that sits under a custom Luno camping mattress with room for two. To make sleeping in the concept even comfier, Luno also offers a concept-specific Base Extender, window shades and a portable USB fan. And to ensure that the concept can handle electric loads needed at off-the-grid campsites, a special Clarios AGM battery is also included.
And of course, we haven’t talked about the Turtleback Expedition Series Trailer yet, which is also finished in a matching custom wrap and also rides on Method brand wheels wrapped with Grabber all-terrain tires. Features include a two-burner propane stove, a deep-well sink, a pair of drop-down tables, a 42-gallon water tank and a 6-gallon water heater with external shower hookup, plus a pancake propane tank. A refrigerator and a 100-watt solar panel can also be added.
