BMW has updated the M135i xDrive with suspension tweaks that are claimed to deliver even sharper dynamics. And also, there are new additions to the exterior color palette, which includes Sao Paulo Yellow, Frozen Orange metallic and Frozen Pure Grey.

The front wheels have got more negative camber that helps better absorb lateral forces when attacking the corners. A new hydro mount has been used to attach the front suspension wishbones, while the mounts for the trailing and control arms at the rear axle have also been redesigned. In addition, the spring and damping systems have undergone recalibration. The result is a significant improvement in roll behavior at corners, which further enhances the steering feel, BMW said.

Specially tuned M Sport steering, M Sport brakes, and 18-inch M light-alloy wheels are all standard equipment for the M135i xDrive. However, buyers can go for a 19-inch light-alloy option.

The B48 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine continues to offer 225 kW (306 metric hp) from 5,000 to 6,250 rpm and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque from 1,800 to 4,500 rpm. The engine is hooked up with an 8-speed automatic transmission that is hooked up with a mechanical limited-slip differential at the front axle. The M135i xDrive also gets a backpressure reducing exhaust system and the exhaust note is pumped into the cabin via speakers.

Another notable highlight of the compact M model is a standard near-actuator wheel slip limitation integrated into the engine control unit. This results in short signal paths, allowing traction to be controlled up to 10 times faster than with conventional systems when pulling away, on slippery surfaces and during dynamic cornering.
