The Lotus Emira deliveries won’t begin until March 2022 (that is if the chip situation doesn’t get worse), but it has already received an overwhelmingly positive response, thanks to its styling and an attractive starting price tag. And so, Lotus is pumped to reveal a GT4 version with plans to build in limited numbers for the 2022 season and extend it to 2023 as per the demand.
The race car has been developed in collaboration with the RML Group. Visually, the Emira GT4 wears a special motorsport livery with what appears to be lime green and gray color combo. There’s also a fairly large fixed wing at the rear. Öhlins dampers, Bosch Motorsport ABS, MoTeC instruments, FIA-compliant roll cage, a six-point harness, a fire extinguisher, and a 96-litre FIA-approved fuel cell are some of the other features. The 18-inch wheels are wrapped with Pirelli GT4-spec tyres measuring 265/645 at the front and 305/680 at the rear.
The Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre V6 engine with a Harrop TVS 1900 supercharger offers 400 bhp. The engine is paired with an xTrac 6-speed gearbox with paddle shifters. Dry weight is estimated to be 1,260 kg (2,778 lbs).
