BMW has launched the X5 xDrive SportX Plus variants in India, priced at INR 79,50,000 for the X5 xDrive30d SportX Plus and INR 77,90,000 for the X5 xDrive40i SportX Plus. Both prices are ex-showroom, Pan India. The SportX Plus is the new entry-level variant available in both petrol and diesel guises.
Features include LED headlights (Laserlight for top-end models), LED fog lights, LED taillights, panoramic glass roof, 19-inch alloy wheels, BMW Live Cockpit Professional (two 12.3-inch displays), gesture control, 4-zone climate control, and safety systems such as airbags, ABS, Cornering Brake Control, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control, TPMS and so on. The SportX Plus misses out on features such as Vernasca leather upholstery, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, surround-view cameras (with 360-degree view including top view, panorama view and 3D view), head-up display, BMW Display Key and a few more.
The xDrive40i packs a 3.0L 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 250 kW (340 metric hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. The xDrive30d is a diesel variant with a 3.0L 6-cylinder turbocharged unit with 195 kW (265 metric hp) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels via the xDrive AWD system.
