Toyota has updated the 4Runner lineup for 2022 with a road-focused TRD Sport trim and enhanced safety features across the lineup. MSRP starts at $37,305. Trim-wise prices (excludes delivery, handling and processing charge of $1,215) are listed below –

The TRD Sport features a TRD hood scoop, black roof rails, 20-inch split-6-spoke alloy wheels, and X-REAS suspension system that is also found in the Limited trim. Short for Cross-Linked Relative Absorber System, the X-REAS automatically adjusts the damping force of shock absorbers when driving over bumpy surfaces or when cornering. A center control absorber cross-links the shock absorbers on opposite corners of the vehicle, like an “X”, to help reduce pitch and yaw by offsetting opposing inputs, Toyota said.
The TRD Sport is available with either 2WD or part-time 4WD with a 2-speed transfer case. The 2WD 4Runners offer an ample 9.0-inches of ground clearance, while 4WD models offer an even more generous 9.6-inches.
Features inside include SofTex-trimmed seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heating for front seats, an 8-inch central touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatibility, and a 4.2-inch MID.
Other updates across the lineup include an exclusive Lime Rush color and standard Multi-Terrain Monitor on the TRD Pro; standard LED high beams on all trims in addition to the existing LED low beams and fog lights; Blind Spot Monitor + Rear Cross Traffic Alert now standard on SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro and Limited, and optional on the TRD Sport; Rear Occupancy Alert standard on all trims, and Panoramic View Monitor standard on the Limited trim.
The 4Runner in America is powered by a 4.0L V6 petrol engine with 201 kW (270 bhp) and 377 Nm (278 lb-ft) of torque. Transmission is a 5-speed automatic.
