Lincoln has revealed the Aviator Shinola concept, which as the name suggests, is a collaboration between Lincoln and Detroit-based luxury lifestyle brand Shinola. The SUV features colors and materials inspired by some of Shinola’s popular lifestyle products.
The Aviator Shinola’s soft white exterior finish was apparently inspired by Shinola’s mother of pearl stone watch dials, with hints of blue; the latter might be better visible in person rather than in photos. As for the copper accents, they were inspired by the copper-plated frame that holds Shinola’s bike seats; here the copper gives off a rose-gold hue.
Inside, the seats are upholstered in Shinola whiskey leather with the centre sections in crème suede, topped off with a vertical Shinola brand stripe for a unique look. In fact, the entire cabin is covered with the aforementioned leather and suede combo. The dashboard and the centre console features woven mesh inserts, inspired by Shinola watch bands.
Lincoln didn’t share any future plans with the Aviator Shinola concept, but it’ll be on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance later this month.
After our initial meeting with the Lincoln team, it was clear we shared the same passion for well-designed, beautifully crafted products. Designers from both brands came together to create an ultra-luxe vehicle that still embodies Shinola’s aesthetic of approachable luxury with thoughtful details. You can see this in the touches of copper inspired by our bike seats and the brand strip incorporated into the leather seats. — Shannon Washburn, Shinola CEO
