Jeep is happy to announce that the Renegade 4xe is a success in Italy as it has sold over 6,000 units since its launch in the country last year. Apparently, the model became a segment leader in 2021 with over 4,000 units sold. For the uninitiated, the 4xe is Jeep’s branding for electrified models.
The PHEV powertrain combines a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine at the front and an electric motor on the rear axle. Transmission is a 6-speed automatic. The ICE offers 96 kW (130 metric hp) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque, while the e-motor develops 44 kW (60 metric hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The combined power output is gonna be 140 kW (190 metric hp). However, those who want more can opt for a higher output variant, where the ICE offers 132 kW (180 metric hp), which brings the combined power output to 177 kW (240 metric hp).
A 11.4 kWh battery pack enables a pure electric range of up to 50 km (31 mi) and a top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph). The top speed in hybrid mode is 200 km/h (124 mph). A 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 7.1 seconds in the higher output variant is not bad either.
Prices in Italy start at €39,150.
