A battery-electric ProMaster coming in 2023.
Ram Commercial has revealed the 2022 ProMaster lineup, expected to arrive at U.S. dealers in the fourth quarter of 2021. The 2022 ProMaster will be available in 18 configurations, including two roof heights, three wheelbases and four vehicle lengths.
In Cargo Van configuration with cargo lengths of 8-ft, 10-ft, 12-ft and 13.5-ft, the ProMaster features up to 12 tie-down rings with 1,000 lbs (453.5 kg) rating and five sidewall tie-down rings with 550 lbs (249.5 kg) rating. Partitions for passengers are available for protection against any load shift in the cabin. Towing and payload capabilities of the 2022 ProMaster are claimed to be 6,910 lbs (3,134 kg) and 4,680 lbs (2,123 kg), respectively.
The 2022 ProMaster is claimed to be the most advanced ProMaster ever. Features include a 7-inch touchscreen (10-inch optional), SiriusXM with 360L, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, Alexa in-vehicle assistant, TomTom navigation, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that supports up to 8 devices, USB outlets, an optional 115-volt/150-watt outlet, a 3.5-inch driver information display (7-inch optional), an electronic parking brake, and ADAS such as Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning, Crosswind Assist, post collision braking, Drowsiness Detection, and Traffic Sign Recognition. Optionals include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Lane Keep Assist.
Powering the 2022 ProMaster is a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine that pumps out 209 kW (284 metric hp/280 bhp) and 352.5 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Ram claims that the fuel economy is up by 9% compared with the previous powertrain combination.
