Tesla has commenced deliveries of Model S Plaid which was announced in October 2020. The company held a delivery event — presented by Elon Musk himself — at its Fremont factory in California, where the first 25 cars were handed over after Elon going over all the improvements and features of the car.
The Model S Plaid is a tri-motor AWD variant, boasting over 1,000 hp, 390 mi (628 km) EPA-estimated range, a 0-60 mph (96.5 km/h) time of 1.99 seconds, and a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). The Plaid also claims to have the lowest drag coefficient of any production car in the world — 0.208 Cd. There were plans for an even more powerful Plaid+, which Elon cancelled a few days ago.
