It appears that there’s an unofficial update on Tesla’s India plans. A Model 3 test unit was spotted on Pune roads, suggesting that the India subsidiary might launch the compact model in the country before thinking about the Model S or Model Y.
The Tesla India Motors And Energy Private Limited (CIN: U50100KA2021FTC142975) was registered earlier this year in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and so far there’s no official word on the same. However, the regulatory filings now show an updated data, including an Authorised Capital of INR 500,000,000 and Paid-up Capital of INR 150,100,000.
The Model 3 in America retails at a starting price of $39,990 (excluding any subsidies), which translates to INR 29+ lakh at current exchange rates. However, the India pricing totally depends on whether Tesla is planning a CBU import or assemble locally with CKD kits from China.
