In a spectacular, FPV drone video.
The Porsche Taycan has already proven itself to be an incredible piece of engineering; it never fails to put a massive smile on whoever gets behind the wheel. But, the marketing division is not done yet. Porsche wants to assure its potential customers that the Taycan — more specifically, the Taycan Cross Turismo, can do its thing even in polar-opposite extreme conditions.
Porsche teamed up with American filmmaker Nicholas Schrunk, FPV drone pilot Johnny FPV (Johnny Schaer), and Finnish racing car driver Jukka Honkavuori, to produce a spectacular video (an understatement, of course) that speaks for itself. The filming was done in two different locations: a snow course in Finland and another identical course set over 5,000 km away — on the northern edge of the Rub’ al Khali sand desert in the middle east. The editing — the seamless transitions between the two locations is what makes the video spectacular.
The film was directed by Nicholas Schrunk (first one from the left), who won an Emmy for the documentary Blood Road. As for Schaer (25), he has been into drones since the age of 15.
