Manhart has revealed the Defender DP 500 for those who want the Defender Supercharged V8 power in their P400, but not exactly the Supercharged V8. We’ll talk about that in a minute.
Let’s talk a little bit about its exterior first. The stock rims are swapped with gigantic 24-inch forged rims with a light grey finish, shod with 295/30 ZR24 tyres. However, a smaller 22-inch set is also available. Other visual enhancements include fender extensions and a decal set. 30 mm lowering of the factory air suspension and brake upgrade options are also available.
Interior upgrades include Manhart’s own leather-Alcantara upholstery combinations and Recaro front seats with heating, cooling and integrated airbags.
An ECU remapping extracts 382 kW (512 metric hp) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque from the 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which are 112 metric hp and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) more than the stock tune. A stainless steel exhaust system rounds off the package.
