The BMW 5 Series facelift (LCI) has now arrived in India, with prices starting at INR 62.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. Locally assembled at the company’s Chennai facility, the new 5 Series is available in three variants in the country —

Variant Ex-showroom price
530i M Sport INR 62,90,000
520d Luxury Line INR 63,90,000
530d M Sport INR 71,90,000

The 5 Series LCI made its global debut over a year ago with styling revisions and a host of improvements in terms of technology and creature comforts. The international markets get PHEV powertrains as well, but as the above list suggests, there’s only one petrol and two diesel powertrains for the Indian market at launch.

Features depending on the variant include LED headlights with laser module, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric sunroof, front sport seats, 4-zone climate control, BMW Live Cockpit Professional (two 12.3-inch displays), 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and safety systems such as airbags, ABS, TPMS and more.

The 530i M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 185 kW (252 metric hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Diesel buyers will have two options. The 520d Luxury Line is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit with 140 kW (190 metric hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, while the 530d M Sport packs a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged unit with 195 kW (265 metric hp) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. All three engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
