Well, who didn’t see that coming?
The Volkswagen ID.4 has dethroned the ID.3 not only as the best-selling EV but also as the best-selling car model in Norway, in April 2021. The BEVs accounted for 54.9% of the Norwegian passenger car market share followed by the hybrids (HEVs and PHEVs) with 32.2% market share last month.
The remaining 7.4% and 5.5% were grabbed by petrol and diesel cars, respectively. Notice the declining market share of ICE-based cars compared to the same period in 2020.
Unsurprisingly, the first two slots of the best-selling car brands in April 2021 were occupied by Volkswagen and Toyota. As for the best-selling car models, the ID.4 was followed by the RAV4, XC40 (all versions) and Audi e-tron (SUV). If you remember, the e-tron SUV was the best-seller in Europe last year. But hey, e-tron should be happy for its cousin now.
