The Porsche Taycan lineup is getting an option of a Performance roof box which is designed in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche — the same folks who design everything from a cutlery set to luxury yachts.
The swanky roof box gets a ‘Performance’ prefix because it has been tested in the wind tunnel at speeds of up to 200 km/h (124 mph). Apparently, the testing checklist included finding out how the roof box would affect the car’s handling characteristics and also if it generates any unpleasant noises.
A quick-fastening system enables the roof box to be mounted on all roof carrier systems. The roof box has a capacity of 480 litres (75 kg/165 lbs max load) and can be opened from both sides. You can imagine it looks especially good on a Taycan Cross Turismo rather than on a Taycan.
Price? €1,150 net. Notice that color-matched side blade? Well, those cost an extra €350 net.
