The all-electric Porsche Taycan which debuted in 2019, is now a huge success, thanks to a number of things including its styling, regenerative braking, two-speed transmission and most importantly, its 800-volt battery system that enables repeatable performance. In fact, the Taycan claims to be the first series-production vehicle with an 800-volt architecture, which arrived at a time when the norm was 400-volts for everyday electric cars.
If you had trouble understanding any of this, Bill Nye — popularly known as Bill Nye the Science Guy, explains some of the key features of the Taycan in five short videos. He tries to explain in simple language and I think it’s worth watching.
