Renault has updated its Trafic van with revised styling, new exterior colors and a new dashboard. The spacious people mover is available in Combi and in a more luxurious SpaceClass variant. Prices in France start at €37,400 for Combi and €46,600 for the SpaceClass.
The styling updates are rather subtle and are mainly on the front fascia, which is in line with the latest Renault products such as the 2021 Kangoo. The new LED headlights and the grille form a T-shaped design element, which looks pretty neat. Both the Combi and SpaceClass come with new 17-inch alloy wheels, which are Diamond-cut for the latter. Both variants get a new exterior color called Carmin Red.
The cabin is available in various seating configurations, obviously. Renault claims a segment-highest headroom of 935 mm. Other claims include dashboard storage space of up to 17.7-litres on the new Combi and 13.2-litres on the new SpaceClass.
The new dashboard houses a new steering wheel with integrated cruise control and speed limiter controls. Other features in the cabin include an 8-inch central touchscreen and a 15-watt wireless smartphone charger. Safety and driver assistance systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and front, rear and side parking assistant.
As for the juicy bits, the new Trafic is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, available in multiple tunes: Blue dCi 110 paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox; Blue dCi 150 paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT; and Blue dCi 170 paired with a 6-speed DCT.
