The 6.5L N/A engine revs up to 9,500 rpm!

Ferrari has revealed a few images of a yet-to-be-named limited-edition supercar based on the 812 Superfast. This anonymous Ferrari is claimed to be an extreme, lightweight and powerful version of its donor berlinetta. The details along with the name will be revealed on May 5, 2021, in the meantime, we do have something to talk about.

The car features some aerodynamic tweaks, such as a carbon-fibre blade on the bonnet to better redirect the air towards the back of the car. Speaking of the back, the rear glass has been replaced with a single-piece aluminium panel with vortex generators. Notice a camera in the middle of the yellow stripe to aid the rear visibility. The front and rear bumpers have also been revised for better airflow and to keep the car on the ground. The rear bumper and diffuser combo, especially, looks extreme.

Ferrari also said that carbon-fibre has been used extensively both on the exterior and in the cockpit to reduce the car’s overall weight compared to the 812 Superfast. Notice a simpler door panel. The new model also gets version 7.0 of the Side Slip Control vehicle dynamics system.

The 6.5-litre V12 still remains naturally aspirated, but here, it pumps out 610 kW (830 metric hp) at 9,250 rpm, which is 30 horses more. However, the engine here revs up to 9,500 rpm, which is 1,000 rpm more than the one in the 812 Superfast. Some of the key modifications to the powertrain components include a new valve timing mechanism and a new exhaust system.
