After revealing the exterior and interior design in two installments, Kia has now revealed more details on the K8 fastback sedan in this third installment. The K8 will go on sale next month starting with the Korean market, followed by select global markets at a later date.

Let’s start with the important, pending bits then. The powertrain options may vary depending on the market. The entry-level engine offering will be a 1.6-litre T-GDI (turbo petrol) unit combined with a hybrid system. The ICE produces 132.4 kW (180 metric hp) and 265 Nm (195.5 lb-ft) of torque, while the e-motor develops 44.2 kW (60 metric hp) and 264 Nm (194.7 lb-ft) of torque.

Next up, there’s a 2.5-litre GDI (N/A petrol) engine with 146 kW (198 metric hp) and 248 Nm (183 lb-ft) of torque. Sitting at the top of the powertrain lineup is a 3.5-litre Smartstream engine that’ll be available in two power and fuel guises: a GDI derivative with 221 kW (300 metric hp) and 359 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque, and an LPI (liquid propane injection) with 176 kW (240 metric hp) and 314 Nm (232 lb-ft) of torque.

The hybrid is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the remaining ones are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that drives the front wheels. Depending on the market, the 3.5L engine variants will get front-biased AWD options.

The interior was already revealed. In case you missed it, the feature list includes a 12-inch central infotainment, a 12-inch driver display, a 12-inch Head-Up Display, 14-speaker Meridian premium sound system, heated & ventilated front seats, and a multi-functional rear center armrest featuring a USB charging port, sliding cup holders and a media control device.

The driver gets what is called the ‘Ergo Motion Seat’, featuring a ‘comfort stretching’ mode that individually controls the air pockets of the hip and backrest areas of the seat, which is claimed to create the effect of stretching while sitting down.

The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist 2, Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
