Can operate as a four-wheel-drive vehicle or a four-legged walking machine
Hyundai’s New Horizons Studio in Mountain View, California, in partnership with Autodesk and Sundberg-Ferar, has revealed the TIGER (Transforming Intelligent Ground Excursion Robot) concept, intended to carry payloads over remote and inaccessible terrains. It is pretty similar to the Elevate concept of 2019, except that TIGER is not gonna carry any humans.
Hyundai calls this uncrewed ultimate mobility vehicle (UMV) concept. The first version of TIGER is X-1 (the X stands for experimental). As with the Elevate, the TIGER has the ability to walk to get unstuck or if the terrain demands walking. Its symmetrical design enables it to move forwards or backwards or even sideways if necessary.
