Audi has revealed the tech-loaded cabin of the all-electric Q4 e-tron SUV, ahead of its official debut next month. The Q4 e-tron was revealed as a concept almost two years ago, which was followed by the Q4 e-tron Sportback concept in July 2020.
These images are of the normal SUV bodystyle, but as you know, it’s not gonna be any different in the coupe variant. The dashboard retains the basic shapes and layout from the concept, with the central touchscreen section angled slightly towards the driver. That protruding control panel on the centre console reminds me of the one in the Honda CR-V. The multifunction steering wheel, however, looks different from that of the concept and looks futuristic. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster comes standard, while the buyers can go for the range-topping Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus. A 10.1-inch MMI central touchscreen comes standard while a larger 11.6-inch display will be available at the end of the year. Two USB Type-C ports come standard, while another two can be picked-up from the options list.
Another key feature is the optional Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, which makes the information appear at a distance of roughly 10 meters (32.8 ft) from the driver. The field of view for the AR content from the driver’s perspective corresponds to a diagonal of around 70-inches, Audi said.
As for the materials/upholstery on offer, there’ll be artificial leather and Dinamica microfiber; the latter is made of 45% recycled polyester, sourced from textiles and PET bottles. Those who prefer traditional materials can choose between leather/artificial leather mixture or premium fine Nappa leather. The S line gets an option of ‘Puls’ upholstery, which is also a combination of artificial leather and recycled stuff. When it comes to interior colors, buyers can choose between Black, Steel Gray, Santos Brown, or Pergament Beige. A total of 9 equipment packages also includes a stitching package. Besides basic seats, there’ll be an option of sporty seats with integrated headrests and an option of rhombus pattern. Safety features include a central airbag that unfolds between the front seats.
The Q4 e-tron is claimed to offer a luggage space of up to 520-liters, which can be expanded to 1,490-liters by folding down the rear seat backrests.
