Remember the retro-cute Alpha Motor ACE two-door electric coupe we saw in December last year? Well, the startup has now revealed a pickup truck based on the same modular platform, available in single motor FWD and dual-motor AWD variants. Alpha is accepting reservations, with prices starting at US$ 36,000.
The Wolf pickup truck follows the same retro-minimalistic design concept as the ACE coupe with its flat front fascia, squarish headlights, flared wheel arches, and overall toyish looks. While it looks like a toy in photos, it boasts some big dimensions, measuring 4,765 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall. The truck bed itself measures 1,652 mm long, 1,490 mm wide and 397 mm deep, and is claimed to offer 977-litres (34.5 cubic feet) of storage space. The example in the photos here is finished in a special blue called ‘SF Blue’, inspired by the San Francisco sky.
The cabin too is minimalistic, with absolutely no physical buttons or knobs on the dashboard. The steering wheel has some rotary controls and thankfully, there are traditional stalks for wiper control and turn signals. Besides a massive, portrait-style central touchscreen, the driver gets their own display, as is “traditional” these days.
As mentioned earlier, Alpha plans to sell the truck in single motor FWD and dual-motor AWD variants. The Wolf claims a towing capacity of up to 1,360 kg (2,998 lbs). It can be equipped with a 75 kWh or 85 kWh battery pack, with an estimated range of up to 443 km (275 mi).
