BMW Motorrad has updated the C 400 X and C 400 GT scooters with EU-5 compliant engine, new brakes and technology upgrades. Prices in Germany start at €6,950 and €7,950 (including VAT), respectively.
The C 400 X will be available in Blackstorm metallic finish, while Granite Grey metallic will cost an additional €50 and Style Sport finish (Blackstorm metallic with Racingblue metallic matt) an additional €200.
The C 400 GT on the other side comes in Alpine White paint finish as standard, while Kallisto Grey metallic paint costs an additional €50 and Style Triple Black finish (Blackstorm metallic with matt tapes) an additional €200.
Thanks to new brake calipers, the double-disc brake system at the front is claimed to offer a more stable and clearly defined pressure point as well as improved roll-back behavior of the brake pistons. The scooters also get optimized Automatic Stability Control (ASC) with automatic radius calibration and increased regulation quality.
Other features include under-seat storage with optimized lighting, a 12-volt onboard socket, and a USB charging socket in the front right storage compartment.
The scooters are powered by an EU-5 homologated 350 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine, developing 25 kW (34 metric hp) at 7,500 rpm and 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) of torque at 5,750 rpm. The engine has been equipped with a so-called “electronic throttle grip” (E-gas) and an electrically operated throttle valve as well as a new engine management system. Transmission is a CVT. The scooters claim a top speed of 139 km/h (86 mph), which is now same for the Chinese market as well.
