The electric SUV now claims more range
MG Motor India has updated the ZS EV for 2021, with prices starting at INR 20,99,800 ex-showroom, Delhi. Compared to the original launch price, there’s an increase of INR 11,800. As before, the crossover is available in two trims — Excite and Exclusive.
So what’s new? Well, visually, there’s nothing. However, the SUV gets slightly higher profile tires of size 215/55 R17 compared to 215/50 R17 of the outgoing model. Also, the ground clearance has been increased to 177 mm (up from 160 mm), and as a result, the battery pack sits higher too at 205 mm.
No changes in terms of the powertrain; the motor develops the same 143 metric hp and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque as before. The battery pack capacity of 44.5 kWh is the same as well. However, MG now claims a range of up to 419 km (260.6 mi), which is 79 km (49 mi) more compared to the originally claimed range of 340 km (211.5 mi).
The rest of the features remain unchanged, including an 8-inch touchscreen, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 6 airbags and so on.
