Triumph has revealed the new Speed Triple 1200 RS, which according to the company, is the most powerful and fastest accelerating Speed Triple ever. It is priced at £15,100 in the UK and INR 16,95,000 in India.
Styling is pretty similar to the Street Triple variants, especially the headlights, the tank design and the rear fairing. Unlike the 1,050 cc Speed Triple variants, the positioning of the silencer is at a more traditional place. Overall, the Speed Triple 1200 RS looks more naked compared to the other motorcycles in the lineup. It measures 2,090 mm long with a wheelbase of 1,445 mm.
Features include full-LED lighting, 5-inch TFT display, keyless system, cruise control, cornering ABS, 5 riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track and Rider), traction control, 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), Triumph Shift Assist up & down quickshifter, and Öhlins adjustable suspension system. Braking duties are handled by twin 320 mm floating discs at the front and a single 220 mm disc at the rear.
Powering the Speed Triple 1200 RS is a 1,160 cc in-line 3-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that develops 132.4 kW (180 metric hp) at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm (92 lb-ft) of torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle weighs 198 kg (436.5 lbs) wet, thanks to a new, lightweight aluminum chassis.
