Porsche is celebrating the 25th birthday of its roadster family with a limited edition model called the Boxster 25 Years. Based on the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0, the Boxster 25 Years pays homage to the 1993 Boxster concept that debuted at the Detroit Motor Show.

The exterior of the special edition is finished in GT Silver Metallic, although Deep Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic are also available. Adding contrast is ‘Neodyme’ highlights, a copper-like shimmering brown, used on the front apron, side air intakes, lettering at the rear and the dual-tone 20-inch alloy wheels.

The convertible top bears an embossed Boxster 25 lettering. Few more details include a special aluminium fuel filler cap from the Exclusive Design range, high-gloss tailpipes of the sports exhaust system, and the windscreen frame finished in a contrasting Black. Speaking of the tailpipes, the special edition continues with two tailpipes unlike a central one in the concept.

Obviously, the cabin features Bordeaux leather upholstery that matches with the red fabric roof. Also, the dashboard on the passenger side features Boxster 25 badging with the limited edition numbering. Features such as 14-way electrically adjustable sports seats, heated GT steering wheel, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports suspension (lowers 10 mm), and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical limited-slip differential come standard.

The 4.0-litre flat-six motor pumps out the same 294 kW (400 metric hp) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque. It can be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed PDK. The Sport Chrono package comes standard too. Porsche claims a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 293 km/h (182 mph).

The special edition is limited to 1,250 units, with each carrying a starting price tag of €94,986 in Germany (including VAT). It will roll into dealerships by the end of March 2021.
