It appears that Nissan’s aggressive pricing strategy for the Magnite crossover has worked. The company has announced that it has received 5,000 bookings and over 50,000 enquiries within 5 days of Magnite’s launch. The sub-4 m SUV starts at an introductory price of INR 4,99,000 (US$ 6,760), ex-showroom.
Nissan also shared some more details, such as over 60% of customers opting for the top two trims (XV and XV Premium) and 30% of bookings are for CVT variants. Over 40% of bookings came through Nissan’s online booking platform.
The Magnite offers a total of 20 variants with prices ranging between INR 4.99 lakh and 9.59 lakh. However, as mentioned, these are introductory prices and are valid until December 31, 2020. It remains to be seen how the buyers respond to revised prices in 2021. The optional ‘Tech Pack’ offers a wireless charger, air purifier, ambient lighting, puddle lamps and high-end speakers.
The all-new Nissan Magnite has received a phenomenal response from Indian consumers. Increasing footfalls and substantial bookings of the Magnite has strengthened our belief that the SUV will be a game-changing product for the discerning Indian customer. – Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India
