What would you do when you become super-successful in life with tons of disposable money? Just go and buy a supercar? Come on! you can’t be that boring. What you wanna do instead is to go to a supercar maker and ask them to build a special one, just for you. And that’s exactly what the owner of this Lamborghini SC20 did.
He didn’t want just an Aventador or Aventador SVJ, despite the latter being a limited edition. What he wanted was a mix of Lamborghini’s past and present. According to Mitja Borkert, Head of Design at Lamborghini Centro Stile, the chief sources of inspiration were the Diablo VT Roadster, Aventador J, Veneno Roadster and the Concept S.
Also, the pronounced front splitter framed by two fins and the air intakes on the hood are inspired by those on the Huracán GT3 EVO, while the sculpted body sides come from the Essenza SCV12. The carbon fibre rear wing can be set in three different positions: Low, Medium and High Load.
The carbon fibre exterior is finished in Bianco Fu (white) with Blu Cepheus (blue) accents. Rounding off the exterior looks are aluminum rims (20-inch front and 21-inch rear) with carbon fibre inserts, wrapped with Pirelli PZero Corsa tires.
The same blue shade can be found in the cockpit, alternating with Nero Cosmus (black) and Bianco Leda (white). The carbon fibre seats are upholstered in Alcantara and leather. The door handles are machined from solid aluminum, while the air vents are 3D printed at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.
The 6.5-litre (6,498 cc) naturally-aspirated V12 motor pumps out 566 kW (770 metric hp) at 8,500 rpm and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque at 6,750 rpm — same as the SVJ. The engine is paired with a 7-speed ISR gearbox (AMT).
The SC20 is one more technical and styling exercise that associates Squadra Corse experience with Lamborghini design, masterfully interpreted by our Centro Stile based on the customer’s wishes. – Giorgio Sanna, Head of Lamborghini Motorsport
