Gallery: Hispano-Suiza Carmen and Carmen Boulogne

Hispano-Suiza-Carmen

The iconic Spanish-Swiss brand was resurrected by Peralada Group in 2019 with a retro-themed all-electric two-door sports coupe called Carmen. It has got two electric motors producing an output of 750 kW (1,020 metric hp), driving the rear wheels. Although made mostly of carbon fibre, it still weighs about 1,690 kg (3,726 lbs), as is typical of an EV. It’s official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is less than 3 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

Don’t let its 20th-century looks fool you. Its retro looks have been neatly married with all the modern technology.

A year later, in March 2020, the company revealed an even more powerful Carmen Boulogne. It boasts 820 kW (1,115 metric hp), 0-100 km/h sprint time of less than 2.6 seconds, and a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph). Most importantly, it weighs 1,630 kg (3,593.5 lbs) — 60 kg (132 lbs) less, thanks to more carbon fibre usage. Oh yes, scroll down for more pictures.
