Aston Martin has teamed up with Scotch whisky brand Bowmore for a limited edition DBX. The marque’s Q division will create 18 of these DBX Bowmore Editions, which are planned to be delivered in Scotland.
To begin with, the Bowmore DBX will be offered with an archived color called Bowmore Blue, which has been brought back by Q exclusively for this car. The buyers will have an option to go for Xenon Grey with blue metallic flecks throughout. The side strakes have been accented with Bowmore-branded copper inlays using copper from the original whisky still, as a nod to the traditions maintained by the company. Rounding off the exterior looks are the smoked wheels and the optional black calipers.
For the cabin, the buyers will have the option of Obsidian Monotone or Copper Tan Metallic-Obsidian Duotone themes; both choices accented by the flashes of Bowmore Tweed. In addition, the Q division has added details such as polished copper cupholders and sill plaques, made of recycled copper from the original Bowmore still.
Each of the 18 Bowmore DBX owners will be invited to an exclusive Aston Martin Art of Living experience in Scotland. They’ll travel to Edinburgh to take the delivery of their DBX, before embarking on a 170-mile (273.5 km) road trip through the spectacular Scottish countryside, taking in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park before driving onto the ferry bound for Islay Woollen Mill.
No mechanical changes. The AMG-sourced 4.0L V8 biturbo motor offers the same 551 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. Deliveries are expected in Q4 2021.
