The Yaris that everyone is talking about these days is the WRC homologation special GR Yaris; everyone who got behind the wheel of this hot hatch wanted to buy one for themselves. But, the Yaris for the masses is also a successful product, as the 4,000,000th unit rolled out of Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF) recently.
The milestone model is finished in a red and black dual-tone paint scheme and is powered by the 4th generation Toyota Hybrid System. The car also comes with active safety features as standard.
Since its launch back in 1999 and winning the Car of the Year in 2000, the Yaris has become an overwhelming success for Toyota, both in sales volume and in raising the brand value. Steadily growing from year to year, in 2019, the third-generation model achieved around 224,000 sales in Europe, accounting for around 22% of Toyota’s European business and a segment share of nearly 8%.
