The 5th generation Micra is one of Nissan’s top-selling models in Europe with over 230,000 units sold since 2017. It has been updated for 2021 with a new N-Sport trim.

The N-Sport will be a permanent member of the Micra lineup. On the exterior, it’ll get gloss-black front, rear and side finishers (door cladding), complemented with black mirror caps and 17-inch black ‘Perso’ alloy wheels. Also, on the N-Sport, the fog lights and headlights come in full-LED as standard.

Nissan will also offer N-Design, where the buyers can customize their Micra with the aforementioned exterior finishers in either gloss-black or chrome. This variant will offer new 16-inch 2-tone ‘Genki’ wheels.

The N-Sport interior will feature seats with Alcantara inserts and a matching dashboard, while the N-Design features black cloth seats with grey accents and leather-look dashboard panels, kneepads and door trimming. The N-Design buyers can also choose Energy Orange accents.

Other trims
The Tekna trim comes with features such as Bose audio system, Intelligent Around View Monitor (camera system), and Blind Spot Warning. From Visia trim upwards, the technologies include Hill-Start Assist, Intelligent Ride Control, and Intelligent Trace Control. Further tech are offered in a Safety Pack, including High Beam Assist, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Traffic Sign Recognition and Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition.

The NissanConnect infotainment system with TomTom navigation is available as an option on all trims starting from Acenta. Apple CarPlay with Siri voice recognition and Android Auto with Google Assistant are available from Acenta with a host of additional in-car entertainment features.

Powertrain
No mechanical changes. In the UK for example, the Micra is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that develops 74 kW (101 hp) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque when paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. To show some mercy on the CVT, the torque output is limited to 144 Nm (106 lb-ft).

There’s also another 1.0L turbocharged petrol variant coupled with a 6-speed manual, where the output figures are 86 kW (117 hp) and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) of torque; actually, 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) in overboost.
