Mini has launched yet another limited edition 3-door hatch in India — John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition, priced at INR 46,90,000, ex-showroom, Pan India. Limited to 15 units, the car can be booked exclusively online at shop.mini.in.
The GP Inspired Edition has nothing to do with the 306 hp JCW GP that we saw a year ago. This is more of a cosmetic stuff.
The exterior is finished in an exclusive Racing Grey Metallic paint, with the roof, mirror caps and the rear spoiler in a contrasting Melting Silver finish. It rides on 18-inch JCW alloy wheels with a GP hub cap; the design of the wheels is similar to the John Cooper Works Hatch that was launched last year.
In the cabin, as we can see, it gets GP-branded door sills and floor mats; sports seats in leather-Dinamica combo with GP branding; 3D-printed paddle shifters, JCW handbrake grip in carbon-fibre, 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, 6.5-inch touchscreen and so on.
The GP Inspired Edition is powered by the same 2.0-litre (1,998 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that offers the same 170 kW (231 hp) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque as the aforementioned, last year’s JCW Hatch. The hot hatch is claimed to sprint from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.1 seconds. An 8-speed Steptronic Sport gearbox drives the front wheels; a limited-slip differential comes standard.
