Time and again, Indians have proven their love for Marutis and Hyundais, regardless of what they offer or not offer, or the stars they score or not score in crash tests. The latest example is the 3rd generation Hyundai i20, which was launched in the country on November 5, 2020. The official bookings were commenced a week prior to the launch.
Hyundai has announced that the new i20 has received 20,000 bookings in 20 days, and over 4,000 customers have already taken delivery during the festive period. Also, more than 85% of customers have opted for Sportz and above trims, suggesting a strong demand for the features on offer on the higher trims.
Nearly 45% of customers have preferred variants enabled with our BlueLink technology. Sunroof continues to be a customer favorite with close to 30% bookings made for models with this particular feature. Similarly, in line with the needs of the current environment, 35% of customers have opted for models with Oxyboost Air purifier. Our new and advanced transmission offerings (IVT/iMT/DCT) have received a strong traction from 25% of the customers and to top it all, almost 20% of the customers have opted for our powerful and efficient 1.5L U2 CRDi diesel BS6 powertrain. – Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), HMIL
