Plus, a ‘bronze selection’ special model
That’s right. The “competition” models don’t just belong to BMWs as Audi is introducing a new ‘Competition Plus’ equipment line for the TTS Coupe and Roadster models, priced at €61,000 and €63,700, respectively, in Germany. The prices include a 19% VAT.
Visually, the TTS Competition Plus models look almost identical to the TTS Competition we saw in 2018. Standard equipment includes LED headlights; 20-inch high-gloss black wheels with a 10-spoke design; red-painted calipers; and a fixed rear wing. The Audi rings are in black. In addition to the Tango Red and Turbo Blue featured here, buyers will have two more exterior color options: Chronos Gray and Glacier White.
The cabin has been spiced-up with generous body-colored highlights; Nappa leather-upholstered seats with a rhombus pattern; red contrast stitching; Alcantara-wrapped gear lever knob; flat-bottom steering wheel with a 12 o’clock marker in gray or red; and carbon-fibre-like inlays. Also included is a 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit.
The 2.5-litre 5-cylinder TFSI motor in the TTS Competition Plus outputs 235 kW (320 metric hp), which is about 14 hp more than in the regular TTS, while the max torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) remains the same. A 7-speed S tronic gearbox drives all four wheels via quattro AWD system. Audi magnetic ride suspension comes standard as well.
The Coupe is claimed to sprint from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds while the Roadster takes 0.3 seconds more — same numbers as the regular TTS. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
The 400 hp TT RS remains to be the range-topping one in the TT family.
Bronze Selection
The ‘bronze selection’ is more of a package that’s available on the TT and TTS models, priced at €6,190 and €4,490, respectively, in Germany. There are three options for the exterior colors: Chronos Gray, Glacier White and Mythos Black. What’s different are those bronze-hued 20-inch wheels with 5-V-spoke star design. Also, notice the Audi rings on the side in the same bronze hue. The cabin features bronze highlights and copper contrast stitching on the sport seats plus.
Order books in Germany are already open and the deliveries will commence in the spring of 2021.
