Porsche continues to expand its Experience Centres around the world. The 9th one is coming up in Chiba prefecture next to Tokyo in Japan, scheduled to open in 2021. Other Porsche Experience Centres (PEC) are located in Leipzig, Silverstone, Atlanta, Le Mans, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Hockenheim. A PEC in Franciacorta, Italy, is also scheduled to open in 2021.
The building’s exterior design is apparently inspired by Edo Kiriko, a traditional Japanese craft. As shown in these renderings, it features a Japanese pattern with diagonal lines. The interior too will have a Japanese flavour.
The new PEC in Tokyo will be equipped with a 2.1 km track that’ll replicate famous corners from racetracks around the world, such as the Karussell (“Carousel”) on the Nürburgring in Germany and the Laguna Seca corkscrew in the U.S. There’ll be an off-road track as well.
