Genesis GV70 debuts as a sexy new coupe-SUV

For those who find the GV80 to be a bit large, Genesis is now offering the GV70 — the brand’s 5th model. Starting from today (October 29), Genesis will hold test drives of the GV70 at its home market in South Korea prior to an official launch.

As we can see from the photos, there’ll be two variants at launch — the regular GV70 and the GV70 Sport; the latter indeed looks sporty, especially in this Red paint, dark chrome elements, and 21-inch wheels with G-Matrix pattern. The G-Matrix pattern was apparently inspired by the reflection of diamonds. Also, the Sport variant with its round tailpipes kinda reminds me of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, especially when you combine that with Coupe-SUV rear profile. But overall, I think it’s a sexy looking crossover. In case you’re wondering, the ‘V’ in the name according to Genesis, represents “versatility”.

Inside, the dashboard has a unique design compared to the GV80’s. Apparently, the styling was inspired by South Korean architecture. The steering wheel is the same as the one in the GV80 and so is the floating touchscreen. While there’s another small touch panel for AC and seat heating/cooling controls, there are a couple of physical knobs, thankfully. The Sport model’s cabin has been spiced up with exclusive colors and materials that include Alcantara. Notice that it also gets a sporty steering wheel and some interesting patterns.
